Carleton takes the lead in philanthropy

Michael and Michael made the trip up to Ottawa last thursday to be on hand for the launch of Carleton University’s new Master’s of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership program. Check out this article on the launch by the Ottawa Citizen.

While there are over 150 graduate programs training non-profit leaders in the US, Carleton’s is the first in Canada. It seems like it’s going to be a great source of competent and forward-looking leaders. If we weren’t so busy here at Ajah, half of us would likely enrol in the program!

The director of the new program is someone with whom we’ve been fortunate enough to collaborate over the years. Susan Phillips co-authored a paper with Michael (Lenczner) this summer entitled “From Stories to Evidence: How Mining Data Can Promote Innovation in the Nonprofit Sector“. If you’re interested in some of the technical skills that we’re excited to be bringing to Canadian fundraising, by all means give it a look.

We’re looking forward to hearing great things about the new program and seeing their graduates in action across Canada.
